NOEMI CARPU

Noemi Carpu's journey is woven with the vibrant threads of the Mediterranean. Born in the idyllic village of Xàbia, she was steeped in tradition and nature's tranquility. Her restless spirit led her to traverse the globe, residing in Norway, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Saint Martin, Mexico, the United States, and finally settling in Rio de Janeiro.

Each destination enriched Carpu's understanding of femininity across diverse cultures, shaping her artistic perspective. Currently based in Rio de Janeiro, she finds boundless freedom to explore her creativity, wholly dedicating herself to her passion: painting.

Carpu's art delves into the intricate nuances of femininity, challenging conventional definitions and gender roles. She queries whether womanhood is universally defined or culturally constructed, advocating for women's liberation from external expectations.

Her artwork serves as a conduit to Mother Earth, employing clay, natural pigments, charcoal, and raw linen to embody feminine essence and connectivity with nature. These materials, sourced from the earth, infuse her pieces with authenticity and evoke a serene beauty that synthetic materials cannot replicate.

Embracing simplicity and elegance, Carpu's artistic approach celebrates the pure, romantic essence of natural elements, inviting viewers into a sensory-rich experience that resonates with authenticity and tranquility.
